Profits from our Winter Edition will benefit recovery programs.

Up and coming

We have secured the rights to Barlow Adams’ Appalachian Alchemy, due out in September:

Life is different in Beattyville, Kentucky, a never-was town, one of the poorest in the state. Most people born there, along the shores of the Kentucky River, die on those same banks. For Marshall Merrick, called “Book” by just about everyone he knows, reading is an escape, and a salvation. Beckoned away from his tiny town by the allure of the world he has read about, his desire to escape his circumstances is warred upon by poverty and his obligations to the tribal lifestyle that would label him a traitor for his ambition.

We are actively seeking submissions for a fall issue of Delphinium, due out in September. This is an unthemed issue and we need art, poetry, and fiction. 20170616_225552

As well, we are in need of fiction or nonfictional narratives about recovery for our themed Winter Issue of Delphinium, Joy of Recovery.

Proceeds from Delphinium benefit literacy programs. Proceeds from the Winter issue will benefit recovery programs.

4th of july

We’ve updated our submission page

Ladies and gentlemen,

We’ve updated our submission page. Please take a look at it – tell us what you think!

Call for submissions – updated

We have two calls today:

1.We are presently looking for short stories, poetry, and art for our first issue of Delphinium due out in July.

  •  Literary fiction that is well written. Language should be beautiful. Wording should be precise. There is no word limit. We do not accept genre pieces.
  • Poetry, any style, any length.
  • Art, black and white, for the interior.
  • Deadline is June 1st. We’ve updated this date – spread the word, more time to submit!

2. An annual book of celebration. The series will contain essays and narratives that celebrate some aspect of life – teachers, animals, the sky. However, it’s not random.

Our first selection celebrates Recovery. We are looking for true stories, memories or essays, experimental styles are acceptable, of recovering. Think of recovering as a broad topic, but the pieces should be about recovering from a major life event, alcohol or drug use, divorce or death, etc.

All submissions should be typed, double spaced, 12 point times new roman or similar with one inch margins. They should be in English. They should represent your finest polished work. Email submissions to Readlipspress at  In your subject lines add either “Delphinium” or “Recovery.” Simultaneous submissions are acceptable as long as you notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Spread the word, ladies and gentlemen!

We were waylaid in getting things up and running, but we’ve been very busy the last few months getting ready for our readers and authors.

We have TWITTER , FACEBOOK,  and Instagram!

We have a new release! Expect the release of Life of Clouds in Nov/Dec 2016

We are working with to set up an account to handle submissions!

We have new contracts with audible and distributors for wider availability.

See – we haven’t been sitting on our bums!
